Rex Borsky is the nom-de-porn that was adopted by legendary hardcore director Alex DeRenzy during the early 90s. The name change signaled DeRenzy's move from making fully plotted features to down and dirty loop-style collections. As Rex Borsky, he shot well over 200 video grinders, establishing himself as the undisputed king of raw, unfettered anal action.

DeRenzy reinvented himself as Rex Borsky in 1992, after filming his final story-driven epics, 'Slave to Love' and 'Two Women.' He started churning out video quickies, working primarily for Rosebud. It was with his Rosebud releases that Borsky broke with the feature-film traditions of Alex DeRenzy. Shooting flicks in a day or two, he concentrated on raucous anal action, delivering non-stop action instead of rationale or motivation. With titles like 'Anal Trashy Ass,' Anal Madness' and 'Anal Sluts and Sweethearts,' it was clear where Rex Borsky was coming from.

Adhering to the 'If you can't best 'em, join 'em' philosophy, DeRenzy never moaned and complained about the death of plot-driven porn, but instead focused on making the best new-school hardcore he could. His never-say-die attitude won him lots of friends in the business, and he ranked among the most prolific sex shooters of the 90s.

In June, 2001, while in Los Angeles for another crank-em-out sex shoot, Alex DeRenzy suffered a stroke and diabetic attack while in his hotel room. When he didn't show up on the set, friends went to his room and found him lying on the floor unconscious. He went on life support for a few days, but never regained consciousness. Alex DeRenzy died on June 7, 2001, taking his alter ego Rex Borsky with him. Anyone who appreciates unfettered anal action is sure to have enjoyed some of his wanton 90s work. He remains the undisputed king of one-day anal scorchers.
